On a beautiful October morning in rural Maine, a homicide investigator from the state police pulls into the hard-luck town of Copper Falls. The local junkyard is burning, and the town pariah Lizzie Oullette is dead—with her husband, Dwayne, nowhere to be found. As scandal ripples through the community, Detective Ian Bird’s inquiries unexpectedly lead him away from small-town Maine to a swank city townhouse several hours south. Adrienne Richards, blonde and fabulous social media influencer and wife of a disgraced billionaire, had been renting Lizzie’s tiny lake house as a country getaway…even though Copper Falls is anything but a resort town.
As Adrienne’s connection to the case becomes clear, so too does her connection to Lizzie, who narrates their story from beyond the grave. Each woman is desperately lonely in her own way, and they navigate a relationship that cuts across class boundaries: transactional, complicated, and, finally, deadly. A Gone Girl for the gig economy, this is a story of privilege, identity, and cunning, as two devious women from opposite worlds discover the dangers of coveting someone else’s life. ~taken from Goodreads

So, I'm not sure how to even go about this review without giving away spoilers! I will start by saying this is as close to a perfect thriller as one can get! I was wowed by every aspect of this book. The plot, the characters, the writing style, the plot twits... it was all level 100! This was my first novel by author Kat Rosenfield, but it will not be my last!
This review will be short, because it's best to go into this novel nearly blind. Don't look for spoiler reviews, just get the book and start reading! This thriller will leave you running in circles and shocked by how it ends. Even the most savvy reader won't see the twists and turns ahead.
The author does a magnificent job at setting scenes and building up characters. The chapters are written in alternating perspectives and broken into 3 parts, plus and epilogue. Each chapter is told from a different main character perspective and it's brilliant in how it weaves in more and more mysterious twists yet at the same unravels mysteries we didn't even know needed answered.
So, it's a 5 star read for me. I honesty think I will read it again now that I know where all the twists and turns are and see if I can get even more perspective(s) from each character.
Thanks to Netgalley and William Morrow for allowing me an advanced digital copy to read and give my honest review.
"No One Will Miss Her" is set to be released on October 12, 2021 here in the U.S. so preorder today so that you can start reading tomorrow! If you love mysteries and thrillers this is a must read! One of my top picks for 2021!
Happy Reading!
